Antti Kaarlela was born in Oulu, Finland in 1979 as the third and last child of his parents. Antti grew up in Oulu and attended the Oulu international school where he studied in English. After graduating from high school Antti moved his life to a suitcase and started traveling around Europe with his snowboard. After an unlucky accident in Ischgl, Austria, Antti had his ankle operated for several times and he decided to go on a round-the-world trip with all the money he had gathered during his years as a snowboard instructor and athlete. Somewhere under the stars of the Southern hemisphere Antti realised that his old hobby, acting, might be what he wanted to for living. Now Antti has studied and worked on three different continents, Europe, Africa and North America. In the United States Antti studied in prestigious schools like Atlantic Acting School, which has been established by David Mamet and currently serves as a studio New York University TISCH School of the Arts. Many of Antti’s classmates from New York City have gone on to star in TV series, such as the Pacific or Hell on Wheels, but Antti decided to return to his native Finland, where he has been building his career as an actor and a writer.
